I am a law clerk at the Malek Law Firm, and I also attend the University of Akron School of Law. I will be graduating from Akron Law in May of 2020, and I am scheduled to take Ohio’s Uniform Bar Exam in July of 2020. I graduated from Westminster College (PA) with a degree in Criminal Justice studies. While in undergrad, I studied in programs like Inside-Out, focusing on prison and sentencing reform, and I was also introduced to Criminal Law while interning through a Public Defenders’ Office.
During law school I have served as a judicial law clerk in the Family Division in my home county, I have interned as a law clerk for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, and I have also participated in the Law school’s Criminal Expungement Clinic.
I was born in Volant, Pennsylvania and moved to the Akron area for law school. In my spare time, I am an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and recreational shooter. I also enjoy sports and continue to play and coach baseball.
I decided to become an attorney because criminal law and the criminal justice system itself have always interested me. I’ve mainly focused on criminal defense because I highly value an individual’s rights and protections. Working at the Malek Law Firm has given me valuable hands-on experience in the field I will practice in, as well as prepared me for the everyday challenges a criminal defense attorney must navigate.
