James G. Foltz graduated from Wilmington Area High School, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania in 2012. He attended Westminster College in Pennsylvania where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies as a member of the International Honor Society of Sociology. Mr. Foltz attended the University of Akron School of Law graduating Magna Cum Laude and received his Juris Doctorate in 2020. While in school, he gained experience in a public defender’s office, as a law clerk for Family and Domestic Court, and in Summit County’s Prosecutor’s Office. He also started working in Criminal Defense with Malek Law Firm in 2019.
Mr. Foltz became an attorney because criminal law and the criminal justice system have always interested him. This interest has led him to working on prison and sentencing reform, expungement in criminal records, and entering the practice of criminal defense. His passion in criminal defense stems from a strong belief in the individual rights and protections that are afforded to everyone.
In his personal life, Attorney Foltz is an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and recreational shooter. He also enjoys sports and continues to coach and play baseball.
